HEAT PUMPS
When you live in a place like North Georgia, you are going to rely on both your heating system and your air conditioner equally to keep your home comfortable throughout the year. With brutally hot summers and unpredictable winter weather, you need to know for certain that your heater and your air conditioner will excel in their operation.
Why not use just one system in order to both heat and cool your home, though? You may think that this sounds like wishful thinking, but the technology is well within your grasp, and has been for quite some time. When you use a heat pump to keep your home comfortable, that is the only system you'll need year round.
North Georgia Heat Pump Tip
Did you know that a heat pump that receives annual maintenance can be up to 25 percent more efficient than a heat pump that receives no maintenance? It will also last longer and need fewer repairs over its lifetime. Annual maintenance will also help you save money on your utility bills because your heat pump will need less energy to keep your home comfortable. Remember that changing your air filters once a month is a way that every homeowner can help keep their heat pump working effectively.
Just keep in mind the fact that heat pumps are doing twice the work that a designated heater or AC would be doing over the course of the year. You need not only a great heat pump, but great technicians to ensure that that heat pump stays up and running at peak performance levels. That is why you should schedule service with the pros at Georgia HVAC.

HOW CAN A HEAT PUMP BOTH HEAT AND COOL?
Heat pumps feature a component called a reversing valve, which allows them to reverse the flow of their refrigerant cycles. This means that they can use the refrigerant cycle to warm homes during the winter season, and not solely to cool them in the summer. During the cooling season, the heat pump acts much like a central AC. Refrigerant evaporates in the evaporator coil, drawing heat out of the air. That heat is then dispersed outdoors at the condenser.
During the winter, the refrigerant cycle is reversed. This essentially reverses the operation of the system’s coils, as well. Now, the outdoor coil is the point at which refrigerant evaporates, allowing for heat from the air to be absorbed – and there is always heat in the air. That refrigerant is further compressed, and its thermal energy used to heat the interior living space. The indoor coil acts as the condenser in the heating mode, shedding the heat inside.

WE OFFER HEAT PUMP INSTALLATIONS
AND REPLACEMENTS
One of the key benefits of using a heat pump, other than the fact that you need use just one system throughout the year, is the fact that they heat with such great efficiency. If your heat pump is not of the right size for your home, though, those energy savings will be lost on you. You may not even be able to heat or cool your home effectively, let alone efficiently.
When we install your heat pump in North GA the system is appropriately sized and its installation top–notch. This goes for replacements, as well. Heat pumps have good projected lifespans, but eventually any mechanical system will require replacement. If you have an old heat pump, you may want to consider replacing your system even if it is still functional, in order to reap the benefits of newer technology.

ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND PROFESSIONAL REPAIRS ARE JUST A PHONE CALL AWAY
All mechanical systems, from automobiles to fighter jets, require maintenance services. Your heat pump is no exception to this rule. While routine maintenance keeps your equipment in fine working condition and as reliable as possible, these are not its only benefits. It also serves to protect energy efficiency, making the work that your heat pump has to do as manageable as possible. The easier it is for your heat pump to do its job, the more efficiently it operates.
Even with meticulous heat pump maintenance, unfortunately, there is just no way in which to guarantee that you will never run into operational problems with your heat pump. Unfamiliar sounds, spiking energy costs, and getting stuck in one operating mode all indicate that you are in the need of heat pump repairs. If you have any concerns at all about the condition of your system, just call Georgia HVAC so that our technicians can get it back on track promptly.
